Glenroy Grove Olives is a small, family run business committed to the production of fine extra virgin olive oil.
Glenroy Grove Olives is situated in the picturesque Blackwood River Valley near the town of Balingup in the south-west of Australia. Two hundred trees grow over five acres of rich, fertile soils - watered by abundant spring fed water and winter rains. They are approaching ten years old, maturing and increasing their yield yearly.
Each May, a group of enthusiastic family and friends hand pick the crop then send it to be pressed in nearby Bridgetown before settling in to a well deserved after harvest celebration. 2012 has seen the first harvest intended for commercial sale. As part of this process, Glenroy Grove entered in the Perth Royal Olive Oil Competition, run in conjunction with the IGA Perth Royal Show by Olives WA. We were delighted to be awarded a Silver Medal in Class 1 - micro volume - with the judge's commenting that the oil 'has aromas of green tomato and fresh cut grass. Lower, somewhat fleeting fruit flavours Hints of bitterness and pepper.'
